God's Provisions

God is my provider: Jehovah JiraThere will be more stories of prior provisions, but aI want to write these down before htey get lost in my memory,

About 3 months ago my little Kia was almost out of gas, and because of my husband's and my medical bills, I didn't know where the funds were going to come from.  I have to drive to work each day.  I work at Liberty University in the Student Advocate Office which is part of a huge department called Resident Enrollment.  I say that only because it helps to remember how huge this really is.

One afternoon, the Receptionist came to me with an envelope with just my name on it.  She said it was the only mail in the bag that day for the whole department.  (I told you this was big!)  In the envelope was a bible verse of encouragement and a statement to keep on being a help and encouragement to our students.  Inside there was a Sam's Club Gas card for a weird amount.  No one knew who it was from.  I borrowed a Sam's Club card from one of the Advocates and went to get gas.  Yes, my tank took exactly that amout to fill it up!

About a month later, there was another envelope with another verse in it and this time, there was a $50 Wal-Mart gift card in it.  That was just enough to pay for the groceries we needed.

Three weeks ago, my husband had to have two teeth extracted, needs another one pulled and one filled.  In order for him to be able to eat properly, they want to build a partial plate for him that will be quite expensive.  We asked for prayer as we do not have the funds for that and everything else.  Two weeks ago, my husband received an encouragement  card from an unknown address with $60 in it to be used for medical expences.

Last week, I was called into our director's office by my Assistant Director.  He gave me an envelope with just my initials on it.  He said while he was in a different building on campus, someone he did not know gave it to him to give to me.  Inside was a piece of paper with PHIL 4:19 and a big smiley face on it.  Enclosed was $200 in cash!

Since the beginning of the mowing period here, God has provided a second lawnmower and different students from Liberty to come help with the lawn right when we needed them most.

My husband has been very blessed with using a penny auction to get appliances, gift cards for restaurants, sporting goods stores, Wal-Mart and gas stations.  Not only have we been able to be a blessing to our children and grandchildren for birthdays and anniversaries, as well as Christmas for pennies on the dollar.  Without God's blessings in this area, we would have not been able to buy groceries, let alone all of these other gifts.

Go knows our needs before we do and has promised to provide our needs.  He does that and SO much more every day!

Thanks be to God for the provisions You provide not only for me, but for my family and others through us!
